This small town of just a hundred inhabitants boasts of being the place where the legend places the famous goose with the golden eggs. This one tells that every year the parish priest of San Esteban de Terradillos de los Templarios went to Santiago to take a golden egg to the chapter, but one day in Compostela they told him that they did not want more eggs but they wanted the hen.
The parish priest along with the members of the temple buried it in Torbosillo so that no one could take it to Santiago. It should be noted that this town was very important because it was settled in the Temple, the most recognized Christian military order.

How to get there
The main way to get to Terradillos de los Templarios is by road, the municipality is reached by the N-120 road that connects Logroño with Vigo and the A-231 highway also known as Autovía del Camino de Santiago, which connects Burgos with León, it can also be reached by the secondary road P-973.
By public transport it is also possible to reach this town thanks to bus lines that connect the village with Burgos, León, Santander, Palencia and Carrión de los Condes.

What to see
Iglesia de San Pedro
The church of San Pedro has a structure of a single nave and a triumphal arch preceding the presbytery. It is worth mentioning inside the seventeenth century altarpiece and a crucifix of the fourteenth century.
