Now you will leave the city to return to the typical Castilian cereal fields. You will have to decide between two options: one of them goes through Villar de Matarife and the other one goes through the historic route to San Martín del Camino.
You will leave León through San Marcos state-owned hotel, next to the Bernesga river. If you have stayed the night in Benedictinas hostel you should go through the streets called Rúa and Ruiz Salazar to get to the Real Colegiata de San Isidoro collegiate church. Once you get to Ramon y Cajal street you have to turn left through the Renueva street and Suero de Quiñones avenue that will lead you to the state-owned hotel.
After crossing the river you will continue through the left side of Quevedo avenue and then through other avenue. Más adelante nos encontraremos con el escollo de las vías del tren, las cuales cruzaremos por una pasarela habilitada para ello hasta Trobajo del Camino. Once you get to a florist shop you should turn left to the Plaza de San Pedro square. Then you will return to the N-120 to finally get to a parallel path that will lead you to Virgen del Camino that could be the first stop in today’s stage; here you will find many baker shops and also bars.
Here you have two options: continue through San Martín, the original way or going through Villar de Mazarifewher you can find many accommodation. If you change your mind during this part of the stage you can return to the original way that goes parallel to the N-120 it is well indicated with the famous yellow arrows.
If you change your mind during this part of the stage you can return to the original way that goes parallel to the N-120 it is well indicated with the famous yellow arrows.
If you go through the original route you have to go through the Calle de la Paz street you are now near the N-120, you have to go through a tunnel and then turn right, then you will go through a path that goes parallel to the N-120 until you get to the end of today’s stage. A few kilometers forward you will find Valverde de la Virgen. If you want to go to any establishment you have to take a turn away because the route doesn’t go through the center of the village.
The following village is San Miguel del Camino where there are some establishments where you can rest and also a spring. Then you will go through Villadangos del Páramo. At the end of this village, you should turn right to walk the last kilometers to San Martín del Camino your today’s goal.

Bear in mind
The first part of this stage could be a little bit complicated because it goes through many industrial estates. As it happened in the other stages, the parts that go next to the N-120 are a little bit dangerous so you have to pay attention and be careful.
For people with reduced mobility, it is better to go through the N-120 from León to Virgen del Camino. Cyclists have to be careful, you should pay attention because most part of signposting is on the left side of the road. What to see
