You will walk for approximately 25 kilometres among paths and streams. You will go through
some small villages before getting to Zafra, a key village such as Badajoz, Mérida, Silleve,
Huelva and Córdoba.

This is not a long stage but you can divide into two and stay the night in Puebla de
Sancho Pérez or even go to Los Santos de Maimona. The only problem in this stage is that
you will have to cross many streams and sometimes it could be a little bit dangerous.

Km 0 – Inicio
If you start in the hostel located in Fuente de Cantos you will have to cross all the
village to get to the national road BA-069, once you get there you will have to cross it
and continue straight forward through a path that will lead you to Calzadilla de los
Barros, just after six kilometres. You will go through some villages such as La Cigüeña,
Viña Sola and La Ensancha. Once you get to Calzadilla de los Barros you can stop for have
breakfast and also to visit the Iglesia de San Salvador church. Once you return to the
route you will have to follow the yellow arrows to get again to the national road and also
to the Rivera river, you will have to cross it. Once you return to the route you will have

N-630 ad then go through some paths to La Puebla. If you have crossed the river you will
have to turn left and go through Vereda de la Plata for 10 kilometres. The landscape will
be the same as the previous days. Before getting to La Puebla de Sancho Pérez you will
have to cross the train rails and get tot a road that you should also cross. Then you will
walk again through the BA-160 and also cross it, you will have to cross also the train
rails near Zafra. Just after passing by a brick building quite abandoned, we will walk on
to a hatch we will open to get to Estacion avenue. The hostel will not be far away, just
after edging Paz park and the Alcazar, through Ancha street. This village, as most of the
closest ones, is sustained on farming. Its International Cattle Fair is remarkable.
Moreover, its inhabitants have played an important role through history, as many of them
departed to conquer the New World. Once we have left our bags, we can walk along its old
town, through Chica and Grande squares, strategic points where old merchants would gather.
You will have to cross some streets to finally get to the hostel. An important place that
you should visit is the Palacio de los Duques de Feria palace that nowadays houses a
state-owned hotel.
