Itinerary
You will have to get to Pereda first that is one of the oldest streets in all the city,
near the Cantabrian Sea. Then you will have to cross a square called Cuatro Caminos, the
Avenida de Valdecilla avenue and the Calle Cajo street to get to Campogiro and Castro. You
will have to cross through a bridge over the train rails to continue through the left,
through a path parallel to rails for a while. Before getting to Santa Cruz de Bezana you
will have to go through Lluja and cross a tunnel to get to the Avenida José María de
Pereda avenue. The next village that you will visit is Mompía that belongs to Santa Cruz
de Bezana where you can see a Casa Indiana on the main avenue. You will have to continue
on the road, cross a bridge and continue through the CA-304 towards Bojar. Once you get to
this village you will leave the asphalt to get into a path to get again to the train
rails. Thanks to an underpass you will get to Boo de Piélagos. It used to be a boat to
cross the river to Miengo, and nowadays you have the option of crossing the train rails
but we don’t recommend it to you, the best option is to go through Puente Arce. Another
option is to take the train to Boo and get tot Mogro. The other option is getting to
Puente Arce, going through an underpass, cross a neighborhood called Mina. Once you get to
Arce you will have to continue through the national road that will lead you to Monseñor
and also to a bridge to cross the Pas river.
Once you get to Oruña you will have to continue through the road towards Mogro, where you
will visit its Santuario de la Virgen del Monte sanctuary. This hermitage is located on a
hill and it was built devoted to the Virgin. You will get tot Mogro, a wonderful place
where you will enjoy its landscape. You will also see the Iglesia de San Martín church
that was built in the 16 century in the highest part of the village. Once you get to the
road you will have to turn left and go through Bárcena de Cudón. Then you have to go to
the right and go through a path that will lead you to Carriazo, once you get there you
just have to cross the road and continue through the left to Cudón. Then you will have to
cross again the train rails to get tot Requejada in Polanco. You will have to go through
the national road to Santillana del Mar, but before you will have to cross Barreda where
you will have to cross the river again. Before getting to your final destination you will
have to go through the CA-132 towards Suances and a little bit after going to the left
through Camplengo, you will continue to get to the hostel There are lots of pilgrims that
decide to conclude here their stage. After leaving Camplengo you have to get tot
Fontanilla and go through the Colegiata de Santa Juliana collegiate church. It is a
monument from the 12 century and before it used to be a monastery. Currently, there are
not any remains of the old monastery, but there is an altarpiece from the 15 century. You
will get to the city centre to the Plaza de Ramón Pelayo square where the city hall is
located.
