Route
Itinerary
Km 0 ‧ Salvatierra/Agurain
We reach the Plaza de San Juan, through the Calle Mayor, and go down the Calle Portal del
Rey and Calle de los Fueros to leave the town of Agurain. Once we have passed the
industrial estate, which we will find on the road, we take a left turn at the third
roundabout, specifically Kañueta street, and then take another roundabout on the right,
and then take Salvatierra street and cross under the A-1 in the direction of Gazeo, where
we can visit the church of San Martín de Tours.
We leave the town by the road towards Langarika, this route will force us to cross a river
and take a road on the right towards Ezkerekotxa. We cross this town towards the railway
tracks which, when the time comes, continue through a tunnel that we will go around. When
you reach the tunnel exit on the other side, leave the road and follow a path close to the
tracks. Further on, this path will take a detour to the right and reach the A-3140, turn
left and leave the tracks on the left hand side to reach the Lurgorri industrial estate,
which in turn will take us to the town of Alegría.
Passing through the town, the path takes us straight on, crossing some tracks and the
river Alegría, to another town, Elburgo, where we can first take a detour towards the
Ayala hermitage and then take the path again, you can’t get lost. Passing Elburgo along
the Calle Mayor, we cross the river Añua, where we come to two paths, one with a slight
incline towards a dirt track, which is the one we take. Following this path straight on,
we reach the top of Jaral, where the sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de Estíbaliz is located.
We then descend towards Villafranca, which, once we have crossed this town, will take us
to Argandoña, where the church of Santa Columba is located.
We leave this last locality towards a roundabout, which we will cross in a straight line,
along a path, until we reach the A-132 road, which we will follow until we come to a dirt
track on the right hand side, this path leads us to Ascarza. We pass through this town
along a path that takes us to the previous road we have been on, the A-132, this time we
cross it and take the A-2130 road until we find a turning on the right, which goes in the
direction of Arcaya. Once in the town, cross it towards the railway tracks, cross them and
we arrive at Elorriaga.
Km 27,8 ‧ Vitoria/Gasteiz
Once there, the Avenida de Santiago leads us in the direction of Vitoria, where there are
enough signs to make it difficult to get lost.
