This is much used\n      on the warmer seasons.\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>45 l<\/strong>: This is the middle one, maybe the most recommended\n      for seasons like autumn or spring, I which the weather you could find is a\n      bit unpredictable and you would want to take with you a mix of clothes.\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>50 l<\/strong>: We are starting the big category, which means we\n      will be carrying extra clothes because the weather is rather cold and\n      rainy. This makes this size of backpack one suitable for winter season.\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>55-60 l<\/strong>: The biggest one, only if you choose to do the\n      Camino in winter season when the weather conditions are extreme.\n    <\/li>\n  <\/ul>\n  <p>\n    For us, the backpacks should be <strong>between 35 and 45 liters<\/strong> at\n    most.\n  <\/p>\n  <p>\n    If possible, <strong>anatomic backpacks<\/strong>, meaning, they adapt to\n    your body and are light and flexible (Possible to adapt also the height of\n    it).\n  <\/p>\n  <p>\n    To get <strong>to know if you have done a good choice<\/strong>, before\n    leaving for the Camino, do this test: Take the empty backpack, tie it at the\n    waist and leaving it without putting it on the shoulders\u2026 Does it still\n    straight? Good shopping. Does it falls? On winter seasons, we could consider the feather ones, which offer\n      more protection but their care is higher.\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>Lightweight and compact<\/strong>: It must be able to adapt to the\n      back pack and easy to tie it to it.\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>Waterproof<\/strong>: It is possible you find some rain, so the\n      sleeping bag should always be waterproof.\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>Temperature<\/strong>: Due to the European standard EN13537 there\n      are 4 types of sleeping bags depending on temperature. This will be\n      indicated on the sleeping bag tag:\n      <ul>\n        <li>Extreme<\/li>\n        <li>Limit<\/li>\n        <li><strong>Comfort<\/strong>: The most recommended<\/li>\n        <li>Max<\/li>\n      <\/ul>\n    <\/li>\n  <\/ul>\n  <p>\n    In some of the accommodations will provide with sheets, but ou will thank yo\n    bring your own sleeping bag, specially on the colder months.\n  <\/p>\n  <h3>WATER FLASK BOTTLE (OR RIGID BOTTLE)<\/h3>\n  <p>\n    At least <strong>1 litre capacity<\/strong>, but you don&#8217;t need much more\n    than that, as you&#8217;ll find plenty of water sources to refill them along the\n    way, and carrying a larger one would be adding unnecessary weight to your\n    luggage.\n  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section-post\" id=\"Calzado\">\n  <h2>FOOTWEAR<\/h2>\n  <h3>TREKKING BOOTS OR TRAIL RUNNING SHOES<\/h3>\n  <p>\n    First of all, it is important to know that\n    <strong>shoes should never be worn for the first time<\/strong> when starting\n    the Camino de Santiago, but should be worn continuously for at least a month\n    beforehand, so that they adapt to our feet.\n  <\/p>\n  <p>\n    The most advisable thing to do when starting the Camino is to wear\n    <em><strong>trekking<\/strong><\/em> <strong>shoes<\/strong>, this will hold\n    the ankle correctly, giving us a greater firmness in the tread, in addition\n    to having the perfect sole for the type of ground that we are going to find\n    during our walks.\n  <\/p>\n  <h3>FLIP-FLOPS<\/h3>\n  <p>\n    Flip-flops are <strong>a must<\/strong> for hostel showers, as well as\n    helping to rest and air out your feet after the miles you&#8217;ve covered during\n    the day.\n  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section-post\" id=\"Ropa\">\n  <h2>CLOTHING<\/h2>\n  <ul>\n    <li>\n      <strong>Walking trousers<\/strong>: Long, short or modular depending on the\n      season of the walk and with a good breathability system to avoid\n      overheating in the warmer months.\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>Trousers for rest<\/strong>: Tracksuit or cotton trousers, short or\n      long, and of a certain width, to feel as comfortable as possible.\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>Sweatshirt or jumper<\/strong>: Thin and comfortable, light in\n      weight and not too bulky to fit easily in your backpack.\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>A pair of T-shirts<\/strong>: This is the minimum recommended, one\n      for that day and one for the next day. They should be seamless and\n      quick-drying, so that they can be washed daily in the different\n      accommodations.\n    <\/li>\n    <li><strong>3 or 4 sets of underwear and socks<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li><strong>Hat, cap, visor or scarf<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>For cold and wind:<\/strong>\n      <ul>\n        <li>A <strong>polar.<\/strong><\/li>\n        <li>\n          <strong>A hat, scarf<\/strong> (or thermal fleece) and thin\n          <strong>gloves<\/strong>.\n        <\/li>\n      <\/ul>\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>For the rain:<\/strong>\n      <ul>\n        <li>\n          <strong>Waterproof layer<\/strong>: Covering both the pilgrim and the\n          backpack.\n        <\/li>\n      <\/ul>\n    <\/li>\n  <\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section-post\" id=\"Higiene\">\n  <h2>HYGIENE<\/h2>\n  <ul>\n    <li><strong>Liquid Soap<\/strong>: Shower gel and shampoo<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Toothbrush and toothpaste<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li><strong>Comb<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li><strong>Deodorant<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li><strong>Sun cream<\/strong>: To protect our face mostly.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Tissues<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li><strong>Toilet paper<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>Microfibre towel<\/strong>: They take up little space in the\n      backpack and dry quickly.\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>Bar of soap<\/strong>: For washing clothes at the end of the day.\n    <\/li>\n  <\/ul>\n  <h3>PILGRIM HELPS YOU<\/h3>\n  <p>\n    We give you the opportunity to take a more than deserved shower after\n    completing the last stage towards Compostela.\n  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section-post\" id=\"Botiquin\">\n  <h2 id=\"Botiquin\">FIRST AID<\/h2>\n  <ul>\n    <li><strong>Betadine (antiseptic or disinfectant liquid )<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li><strong>Gauze<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>Needle and thread<\/strong>: Among many other uses, these are\n      important for treating blisters that may occur along the stages travelled.\n    <\/li>\n    <li><strong>Tape<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li><strong>Sticking Plasters<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li><strong>Scissors<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>Vaseline<\/strong>: Applying a small amount of Vaseline to your\n      feet before each day will help prevent the dreaded blisters.\n    <\/li>\n    <li><strong>Analgesics<\/strong>: Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Paracetamol&#8230;<\/li>\n  <\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section-post\" id=\"Imprescindible\">\n  <h2>ESSENTIALS<\/h2>\n  <ul>\n    <li><strong>Identification document<\/strong> (ID card, passport,&#8230;)<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Health card<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li>\n      <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pilgrim.es\/en\/plan-your-way\/pilgrims-accreditation\/\"\n        >Pilgrim&#8217;s Credential<\/a\n      >: The document that accredits the person as a pilgrim. Essential to sleep\n      in the vast majority of\n      <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pilgrim.es\/albergues-camino-de-santiago\/\"\n        >hostels on the Camino de Santiago<\/a\n      >. In some places it is necessary to show it to benefit from discounts for\n      pilgrims.\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>Camino Guide<\/strong>: It is not compulsory but it is true that it\n      will help you to situate yourself better through the areas you are going\n      through and not get lost as you go through the different stages.\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>Cash and credit card:<\/strong> It is not necessary to have a lot\n      of money in your wallet, as you will be able to withdraw cash at the\n      different ATMs you will find in the towns you will visit along the Camino.\n    <\/li>\n  <\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section-post\" id=\"Opcional\">\n  <h2>OPTIONAL ITEMS<\/h2>\n  <h3>STERILLE<\/h3>\n  <p>\n    If you always sleep in some kind of accommodation it is not necessary, but\n    it can be <strong>very useful<\/strong> when sleeping outdoors or even when\n    you sit down to eat in a field or lie down to rest.\n  <\/p>\n  <h3>WALKING STICKS<\/h3>\n  <p>\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pilgrim.es\/en\/plan-your-way\/pilgrims-staff\/\"\n      >The use of the classic Bordon<\/a\n    >\n    has been reduced as a result of the rise in the use of walking sticks. They\n    are a <strong>strong point of support<\/strong> for the moments of greatest\n    fatigue.\n  <\/p>\n  <p>\n    If you are planning to cover a lot of kilometres every day, you could do\n    with some extra help to reduce fatigue.\n  <\/p>\n  <p>\n    They allow you to hold on better when going down hills and descents, and\n    they will also give you an <strong>extra boost<\/strong> when going up slopes\n    with large gradient.\n  <\/p>\n  <h3>PILLOWCASE<\/h3>\n  <p>It is advisable to have one, just in case.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section-post\" id=\"Otros\">\n  <h2>OTHERS<\/h2>\n  <ul>\n    <li><strong>Clothes pegs<\/strong>: For hanging clothes.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>3 o 4 safety pins.<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li><strong>Plastic bag<\/strong>: For dirty laundry<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Multi-purpose knife and torch<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li><strong>Sunglasses<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>Earplugs<\/strong>: These will help you sleep in accommodation\n      where you have to share a room\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>Reflective armband<\/strong>: This is essential, especially if you\n      are walking very early in the morning or if the weather is bad, rain or\n      fog can reduce the visibility of drivers, cyclists, etc. and can therefore\n      be a danger to your own safety.\n    <\/li>\n  <\/ul>\n  <h3>PILGRIM HELPS YOU<\/h3>\n  <p>\n    If you carry your backpack according to the above recommendations, we are\n    sure that you will be able to get the Compostela without any problems, but\n    if you think that it can be a hard work to carry all the things,\n    <strong\n      >we will carry\n      <a\n        href=\"https:\/\/www.pilgrim.es\/en\/services\/backpack-delivery\/\"\n        rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\n        target=\"_blank\"\n        >your backpack from one stage to another<\/a\n      >\n      so that you only have to worry about walking.<\/strong\n    >\n  <\/p>\n  <p>\n    <em><strong>Ultreia Pilgrims!<\/strong><\/em>\n  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>   One of the most important factors when arriving in Santiago de Compostela<br \/>\n      is the weight of our luggage.
