This\n    will be discussed in the next section.\n  <\/p>\n  <p>\n    There are many pilgrims who choose the option of doing the Camino de\n    Santiago in hostels as it allows a <strong>number of advantages<\/strong>.\n    However, like everything else, it also has its disadvantages:\n  <\/p>\n  <h3 id=\"Ventajas-Desventajas\">ADVANTAGES OF HOSTELS<\/h3>\n  <ul>\n    <li>\n      You will be able to meet a <strong>multitude of pilgrims<\/strong> and make\n      unbreakable friendships.\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>The price<\/strong>: It is the cheapest you will find, in some\n      cases even with free stay.\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>Greater connection with the Camino<\/strong>: Veteran pilgrims\n      recommend this option for being the one that most connects with the\n      original essence of the Camino.\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>An adventure for children<\/strong>: For them it will be like going\n      to a camp so if you decide to do the\n      <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pilgrim.es\/en\/plan-your-way\/with-your-family\/\"\n        >Camino de Santiago with children<\/a\n      >, it would be a good choice.\n    <\/li>\n  <\/ul>\n  <h3>DISADVANTAGES OF HOSTELS<\/h3>\n  <ul>\n    <li>\n      <strong>Coexistence with other pilgrims<\/strong>: There will be times when\n      you encounter noisy pilgrims who do not allow you to rest well.\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>Poorly maintained<\/strong>: Some hostels are not well maintained.\n      Try to seek opinions from other pilgrims before deciding to stay\n      overnight.\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>Reduced comfort<\/strong>: For older people, it can be an ordeal to\n      stay in these places. Even some people with\n      <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pilgrim.es\/en\/plan-your-way\/reduced-mobility\/\">injuries or disabilities<\/a>\n      would not be in the best condition.\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>Occupancy<\/strong>: Many hostels fill up very early in the\n      morning, so either we run to ensure a place in the next hostel or we will\n      be left <strong>without a place<\/strong>, especially depending on the\n      <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pilgrim.es\/en\/mejor-epoca-del-ano-para-hacer-el-camino-de-santiago\/\"\n        >time of the year in which you do the Camino<\/a\n      >. However, this is more focused on public hostels.\n    <\/li>\n    <li>\n      <strong>Dogs are not allowed<\/strong>: If you decide to do the Camino de\n      Santiago\n      <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pilgrim.es\/en\/plan-your-way\/the-way-with-pets\/\">accompanied by your dog<\/a\n      >, you cannot stay in these accommodations since it is forbidden. But\n      don&#8217;t worry, we recommend the best way to plan it.\n    <\/li>\n  <\/ul>\n  <p>\n    Finally, the decision whether or not to sleep in hostels is your own\n    decision. Shall we continue?\n  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"section-post\" id=\"Tipos\">\n  <h2>TYPES OF HOSTELS ON THE CAMINO DE SANTIAGO<\/h2>\n  <p>\n    It is time to differentiate the <strong>types of hostels<\/strong> that you\n    will find during your pilgrimage along the different routes of the Camino de\n    Santiago.\n  <\/p>\n  <h3 id=\"Publicos\">PUBLIC HOSTELS<\/h3>\n  <p>\n    Their main characteristic is that they belong to a\n    <strong>public entity<\/strong>, such as a city council or autonomous\n    community.\n  <\/p>\n  <p>\n    Their places are distributed according to the order in which pilgrims arrive\n    and preference is given to pilgrims arriving on foot over those who are\n    doing the\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pilgrim.es\/en\/plan-your-way\/by-bike\/\">Camino de Santiago by bicycle<\/a>\n    or on horseback.\n  <\/p>\n  <p>The stay is for one night only and <strong>cannot be booked.<\/strong><\/p>\n  <h4>The price<\/h4>\n  <p>\n    When evaluating the price of these accommodations, some do not charge a fee,\n    but ask for a <strong>small donation<\/strong> to cover the costs of\n    maintaining the place.\n  <\/p>\n  <p>\n    The price of the ones they charge is <strong>between 5 and 8 euros<\/strong>.\n  <\/p>\n  <p>\n    From 12 October 2019,\n    <strong\n      >all Xunta de Galicia hostels will increase the price from 6 to 8\n      euros<\/strong\n    >&#8230; with the intention (not definite) to reach 10 euros for\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pilgrim.es\/xacobeo-2027\/\">Xacobeo 2027<\/a>.\n  <\/p>\n  <p>\n    They have now more and more amenities such as washing machines, dryers,\n    kitchens&#8230;
