It also has the distinction of European Horse City.\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<div id=\"locationSection\">\n\t\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"p-h2-town\">Location<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t<hr>\n\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"p-h3-town\">How to get there<\/h3>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<p>To get to Goleg\u00e3 the easiest way is to get to Santar\u00e9m and, from there, take the national road N-365. It can also be reached by the national road N-243 from Torres Novas or the IC-3 road from Entroncamento.\n\n<p>It is also possible to get there by public transport thanks to a railway line that stops about 4 km from the village. Relvas had the House Museum built in 1872 and, today, this studio is unique in the world.\n\n<p>The artist was the leading exponent of the photographic studios that took place throughout the European continent in the second half of the 19th century. That is why the building that houses his studio is and continues to be the subject of study for other contemporary artists in Europe and America.<\/p> <p>\n\n<p>This building is distributed on two floors and has a romantic aspect, which gives it a greater monumentality. Of the House Museum highlights the second floor, in which we can see a large glass window and, it is here where all kinds of photographic furniture and canvases showing different landscapes are arranged.<\/p> <p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.pilgrim.es\/web\/caminos\/camino-portugues\/pueblos\/golega\/puntos-de-interes\/casa-museo-carlos-relvas.jpg\" alt=\"Casa Museo Carlos Relvas\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion__accordion-content inactive\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>Iglesia Matriz<\/h4>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Matriz Church stands in the town of Goleg\u00e3, within the district of Santar\u00e9m and was declared a National Monument. The church dates back to the 15th and 16th centuries and is a large rectangular building.\n\n<p>The temple was erected by order of Manuel I and is worth admiring its wonderful facade, which presents a richly ornamented appearance, typical of the Manueline style. The interior of the temple is plastered with blue and white tiles and some of them reproduce scenes from the life of Christ.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.pilgrim.es\/web\/caminos\/camino-portugues\/pueblos\/golega\/puntos-de-interes\/iglesia-matriz.jpg\" alt=\"Iglesia Matriz\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion__accordion-content inactive\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>Quinta da Cardiga<\/h4>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>This Quinta, located in Goleg\u00e3, was owned by King Afonso Henriques, who donated it to the Order of the Templars at the end of the 12th century. Until the 19th century this quinta was part of the defensive line of the Tagus, until it became the property again of various religious institutions.<\/p> <p>\n\n<p>Time later it was acquired by the Sommer family and currently belongs to their descendants, known as the Andrade and Mello.
